faq
the gloves
what are wutong gloves made of?
leather, in one of three finishes: smooth nappa, soft brushed suede, or calf hair, which is cowhide with its short hair left on. each product page names the material.
is the python real snakeskin?
no, it’s a python pattern printed onto suede.
what size are they?
every style comes in one size. leather and suede soften and give a little as you wear them, so a new pair can feel snug at first, and if you’d like to check the fit before you order, email us and we’ll send you the measurements of the pair you’re looking at.
how do i look after them?
keep them away from radiators and direct heat, let them dry naturally if they get wet, store them flat away from sunlight and damp, and never wash or tumble-dry them.
why are they called wutong?
梧桐, wutong (say woo-tong), is what shanghai calls the plane trees that line its old streets, and it begins with 吴, wu, the family name behind the label.
will a colour come back?
each colour is made in a small run, so once it sells out it may not come back in the same shade.
orders and payment
how do i pay?
checkout is run by stripe, so you can pay by card or with any other method shown on the payment page, and we never see your full card details.
can i pay in my own currency?
our prices are in pounds sterling, and checkout may offer to charge you in your local currency, showing you the exact amount before you pay.
how do i use a promo code?
press checkout and enter it on the payment page. you can use one code per order.
can i change or cancel my order?
yes, as long as it hasn’t been dispatched: email us as soon as you can and we’ll change the address, or cancel the order and refund you in full. once it’s on its way, you can still return it within 14 days of delivery.
i haven’t had a receipt.
your receipt is emailed when you pay, so check your spam folder first, and if it isn’t there, email us and we’ll confirm your order.
delivery
where do you deliver?
to most countries, always tracked from the uk. choose yours in the cart to see the delivery cost and time before you check out.
how much is delivery?
delivery is free within the uk. everywhere else it’s a flat rate per order, from £15, and your cart shows the exact cost once you choose your country.
how long will it take?
every order is dispatched the next business day, and the carrier usually takes 3 business days within the uk and 6–11 to most other countries.
will i pay import duties or taxes?
not within the uk, and orders to australia under a$1,000 or new zealand under nz$1,000 normally arrive with nothing to pay. eu orders are sent from the uk, so the carrier collects import vat, and usually a handling fee, on delivery, and everywhere else any duties and taxes are set by your country and paid by you.
my tracking hasn’t moved. what now?
email us with your order number and we’ll chase the carrier, and if a parcel is lost, we’ll send a replacement or refund you in full.
returns
can i return my gloves?
yes, within 14 days of delivery and for any reason. email us to start a return and we’ll send you the address.
who pays for return postage?
you do, unless the pair is faulty or we sent the wrong one.
when will i get my refund?
we aim to refund within 5 business days of your return arriving, and always within 14 days, to the payment method you used.
can i exchange a pair for another colour?
we don’t do exchanges, so return the pair for a refund and order the colour you’d like.
what if my gloves are faulty?
email us a photo and we’ll pay for the return. within 30 days of delivery you can choose a full refund or, if we have one, a replacement, and your legal rights carry on after that, so get in touch whenever a fault appears.
can i return a gift?
yes, within 14 days of delivery, and the refund goes back to the payment method used for the order.
