the oldest trick: cream gloves with a black coat

there is a photograph everyone has seen. a woman in a black coat, at an airport or on a city street, sometime in the middle of the last century. she is wearing pale gloves. they are the first thing you notice.

pale gloves with a dark coat are the oldest trick in quiet dressing. they draw the eye to the hands, which are always moving. they make a plain coat look finished.

the 007 striped gloves are cream nappa leather. three glossy black stripes run diagonally across the back of the hand. dark stitching follows the fingers. the wrist is gathered, so it sits close under a sleeve.
