the runway count

net-a-porter's porter called long gloves the finishing touch of fall/winter 2026. at max mara, all 45 looks were styled with long suede gloves. at sportmax, balenciaga, ralph lauren and khaite, gloves finished many of the looks¹.

who what wear put over-the-elbow leather gloves among its seven accessory trends of the season: rich olive at zimmermann, classic black at boss, slate grey at mugler and burgundy suede at max mara². vogue arabia noted balenciaga's autumn/winter 2026 leather gloves in ebony, teal and chocolate³.

the gloves left the runway too. porter saw them worn between shows with short-sleeved shirts and trench coats¹. buro 24/7 reported long gloves on the streets of paris, milan and copenhagen, with trench coats, denim and loafers⁴.

tonal vs contrast: matching gloves to the coat, or not

both work this season.

in new york, coveteur noted a series of tonal leather gloves, at michael kors, calvin klein collection and carolina herrera. everything matched, glove to sleeve⁵.

elsewhere the glove was the contrast. zimmermann's olive and max mara's burgundy sat against neutral coats².

why nappa

nappa is soft, smooth leather. it is thin enough to fit closely and follow your fingers. it gives a little as you wear it, then holds its shape.

the runway made its case with length. a wrist glove makes it with detail. the eye goes to the hand either way.
